What We Do

In pursuit of our mission, OMDC aims specifically to:

• Make Orange Mound a safe, attractive place to live and work.
• Increase the affordable housing units in the City of Memphis.
• Recapture tax revenue generated by the increase in property values.
• Sustain and promote economic development activities.
• Improve and assist the redevelopment of the commercial corridor.
• Partner with organizations to develop programs to increase marketable skills of Orange Mound.
• Provide job opportunities for Orange Mound residents.

The Orange Mound Development Corporation is an HUD Approved Housing Counseling Agency.  OMDC provides counseling services for individuals and/or families seeking assistance with becoming homeowners, maintaining home-ownership, and/or preventing foreclosure.

OMDC also develops housing for home-ownership and/or rental. OMDC provides quality and affordable housing opportunities to low to moderate income individuals and/or families.
